Make a Green Change

Did you know that April was Earth Month? That's because Earth Day falls on April 22nd. This is the month we're supposed to be more "green" aware, if we're not the rest of the year. As a matter of fact, some publications are calling this generation of kids, the Green Generation, because of their awareness and concern for green issues, like conservation and global warming.
Here's some tips from the Earth Day Network, http://ww2.earthday.net, on simple things you can do to make your home and life more green;

-Change your light bulbs to highly efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs.
-Drive your car differently; slow down, don't race your car's engine, and watch how long your idling.
-Your house – not too hot, not too cold. Try to keep the thermostat consistent, instead of changing it up or down.
-Tame the refrigerator monster. It's the biggest consumer of electricity among household appliances. Changing the adjustments just a little will save energy. And if that second frig has only a few items in it, unplug it.
-Turn the knobs down on your other household appliances. The hot water heater only needs to be set at 110-120 degrees.
-When possible, wash a few dishes by hand. Over time, that will save a few loads in the dishwasher, conserving energy.
-Go organic, eat locally grown food. If the food doesn't have to travel far, there's less CO2 from the trucks that ship it.
-Buy recycled.
-Be a minimalist, every time you buy something, energy has gone into getting that product to you. So the less you buy, the more you save energy-wise.

And of course, Nature's Sunshine has some great products to help you go more green and save you money too.

Did you know that the EPA states that the worst air pollution is inside our own homes? That's right! Airbourne hazardous and toxic chemicals inside homes have concentrations 2-5 times higher than levels outside. Here's two ways you can clean up that danger to your health.
First, properly dispose of all those hazardous and toxic chemicals. Second, buy Nature's Fresh and Sunshine Concentrate.

Nature's Fresh is a great product for just about everything and it's enzyme rich and all natural. We use it to clean spots from the carpets or clothes, as an air freshener instead of using chemically harsh plug-ins, as a vegetable wash for store bought veggies, and it even works great to stop the itch on insect bites and the pain on burns and sunburn.

Sunshine Concentrate is pH balanced, biodegradable and non-toxic. We do all our laundry with it, without using any other soaps. It's great for cleaning floors, counters, tables, any surface you come in contact with, because it won't leave a toxic residue like other cleaners. And after you've clean with it, you can actually use the left over water to water your outdoor plants. With the two of them, you can replace all the dangerous chemicals in your house, helping the environment and saving you tons of money.

Call or email us if you have any questions on other uses for these products. And please, send this blog to people you know who can benefit from using Nature Sunshine products. With your help, we can make our families and friends, happier and healthier, one person at a time.
